Flaming Takoyaki

If you are playing Tales of Link you know why this exist. However, I’m wondering why Leon ran away at the end of the story when Stahn was offering him to eat the Takoyaki that Stahn’s class made. It didn’t say what the ingredients were (or maybe I missed it in the story). Stahn just said “It’s a powerful coupling of fresh octopus and savory okonomiyaki”, that “the ingredients are high quality”, and his “class developed a new way to cook it”. Leon running away is the obvious inspiration for this drawing. I kinda can see this happening especially with Stahn’s persistence hehe. Also it is just me cause Stahn looks weird (but still cute) without his bandana hehe reference

It’s been awhile since did this style. I want to keep it simple but still close to the original design as possible. The sketch probably took me half an hour to finish. Digital lining took me about 5 hours and coloring took me 10 hours in total. It used to take me shorter amount of time but I guess I’m still getting used to CS5 and also I don’t do this as much. There are parts that I don’t like about this, proportion and hands as always. But I did like the outcome of the patterns on the clothes, the color on the takoyaki and the highlight on the hair. It took a really long time but it was definitely worth it. As for the background, I’m really trying. It’s still another weakness. I just hope the colors isn’t clashing.
