Recycled Ramen Tissue Box

week 4 entry for

I made this absolutely out of recycled materials. I seriously didn't spend a thing! I'm so happy!

I know this type of item is being sold out there in stores, not this recycled version, but something made of cloth and foam with zippers. And though I can afford it, something inside me was telling me not to buy it. I debated so much with myself with this particular item and I'm glad that I listened to... myself? err... I mean that 'voice' inside me (I know this is starting to sound weird ).

Anyway, it took me a while to make this cause I really couldn't find the right material I wanted. First, I wanted to use a white ice cream container but we don't have that at home. All we have is a with bucket meal container that has no cover. I was holding on to it until I can find a matching cover or an ice cream container. As you can see I finally found a cover but it's red... But I wanted to do this so badly so I just did it!

I also don't have paint. I tend to over use paint to actually wasting it, so I stopped buying them to control myself. Anyway, I'm still able to work things out without them as you can see.

Materials used:
~ bucket meal container
~ pieces of used paper (unfinished drawing in one side and clear on the other, I have lots of that)
~ notebook cover
~ red, yellow and black markers
~ glue
~ colored pencils

Approx time: 5 hours

The outcome isn't perfect but I'm still happy I was able to finish it cause I was able to RECYCLE! ^_^
